Vaastu

.

  1.  What is Vaastu?

Vaastu is considered the interplay of various forces of nature involving the five elements of earth, water, wind, fire and ether and strives to maintain equilibrium as these elements influence, guide and change the living styles of not only human beings but every living being on earth. Thus they influence our deeds, luck, behavior and other basics of life.

    Vaastushastra
is the sublime elucidation of your surrounding and their influence on your life. Vaastu literally means " house" or Dwelling Place and its principles establish to create a harmony between the fine elements viz. Earth, Sky, Fire, Water and Air in the environment.

Vaastushastra unifies the science, art, astronomy and astrology; it can also be said as an ancient mystic science for designing and building. Vaastushastra helps us to make our lives better and will secure from things going wrong.

Vaastushastra is an ancient building science which covers the philosophy and theory of Architectural works to construct any building and as well as living style of people. Vaastushastra is based on various natural energies, which are available free cost in atmosphere like:

  1. Solar Energy from Sun. Lunar Energy from Moon
  2. Earth Energy
  3. Sky Energy
  4. Electric Energy
  5. Magnetic Energy
  6. Thermal Energy
  7. Wind Energy
  8. Light Energy
  9. Cosmic Energy

Utilization of such energies gives us pleasure peace, prosperity and money etc in our life.

Vaastu can be used for Homes, Offices, Factories, Schools, Plots, Rooms, Houses, Temples, Shops, Industry, Town planning, Cities and even for Earth. Vaastu can be used for micro as well as for macro level.

There are three forces in action to create harmony. Wind, water and fire or, Vaayu, Jal and Agni. If these forces are kept in their appropriate places, then there will be no disturbance. But if water is put in place of fire and wind in place of water or in any other combination, the forces will start acting accordingly and create disharmony. In the modern world where so many high rise buildings are being built, it is difficult for people to incorporate traditional Vaastu rules. It becomes necessary to check the energy levels of such places and put remedial measures. Some instruments are capable of doing this job very well. It checks Geopathic Stress and negative energy in household things and environment, which otherwise is not possible.

  1. Five Elements (Panchmahabhoot)

Rules of Vaastu are based on five basic elements i.e. Wind, Water, Fire, Earth & Space (sky). These elements make human body “PIND” and the Universe “Brahmaand”. Out of the nine planets, our planet has life because of the presence of these five elements.

If all the elements are not in harmony, the energy of the place gets disturbed and there are problems. This in turn has negative impact on persons staying there.

  2. (1) EARTH (Bhumi) :Earth, the third planet in order from the sun, is a big magnet with North and South poles as centers of attractions. Its magnetic field and gravitational force has telling effects on everything on the Earth, living and non-living. It is tilted by about 23 ½ degrees at the meridian. It comprises of the land structure, landform, landscape, flora and fauna. It also establishes availability of local construction materials and their workability. In India, we worship our Bhumi and give her a place of our mother.
  3. (2) WATER (Jal): This is represented by rain, river, sea and is in the form of liquid, solid (ice) and gas (steam, cloud). It forms part of every plant and animal. Our blood is nothing but water with hemoglobin and oxygen. The habitat and physical life are where water is present. This is true for all life forms and eco-cultures. The type, form and pattern of life also greatly depend on relationship of earth and water. If we see our history, all the cultures had developed on the bank of any water bodies, so this shows the influence of the water on our life, since ages.

  4. (3) AIR (Vaayu): -As a life-supporting element, air is very powerful life source. Pure air with oxygen is good for brain and blood. Atmosphere of earth which is about 400 kms. , In depth, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Carbon-di-oxide, Helium, other gases, dust particles, humidity and vapour in certain proportions. Human physical comfort values are directly and sensitively dependent on correct humidity, airflow, and temperature of air, air pressure, air composition and its content. In this aspect, air deals with the entire body surface through skin, blood system - through respiration. Air also represents the movement.
  5. Air is being polluted by infra red radiations emitted by gadgets like computers, laptops, televisions, microwaves, cell-phones and cell phone towers etc.(This is the reason why we see no birds around us these days.) This infra red pollution is presenting hazards like headaches, stress, loss of sexual energy(infertility, impotency),lack of energy, irritability, cancer, immune system disorders, brain tumours, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and many more Products are available that absorb these radiations before they reach human beings and prevent from the proposed hazards.

  6. (4) FIRE (Sun):- It represents light and heat without which the life will extinct. All the days and nights, seasons, energy, enthusiasm, passion, vigour is because of light and heat only. Sun is a source of mental energy too. Best minds evolve in a natural process where the sun was temperate. Not very hot, not very cold, just the right temperature of 24 degrees. The different zones with the variety of climate have distinctive culture and architecture. Sun has played an important role in development of visual qualities of architecture in terms of textures, colors and above all the expressions of vitality.

  7. (5) SPACE (Aakash): -All the above elements are skillfully engineered towards the creation of physically comfortable, emotionally pleasant, totally vibrant and blissfully satisfying spaces for human shelter and habitat. This is the unending (anant) space where earth ,Sun and other galactic bodies exist. Some part of it is explored and some is still unexplored. Sometimes it is also called the cosmic energy. Its effective forces are light, heat, gravitational force and waves, magnetic field and others.

The ideal habitats, cultures, architecture and life have naturally shown growth where all the five elements, are abundantly available and are in balance and harmony. There is an invisible and constant relation between these elements outside and those within an individual and in his living and working places. Thus, the man can improve his conditions by properly designing his buildings by understanding the effectiveness of these five natural forces and protecting himself from modern day technology hazards.

  8. Practical Applications

I have practically observed that if all the elements are not in harmony, the energy of the place gets disturbed and there are problems. This in turn has negative impact on persons staying there. You must have experienced this on yourself that when you go to a particular place you feel generally happy and like to visit that place more often. At other times you like to run away from certain places, if you have to stay there for longer you experience uneasiness or headache. The reason behind this is the Vaastudosh or imbalance of energies of the place.

With experience, I have seen that when fire element in the house disturbed, persons staying there are likely to suffer from emotional problems and problems related to digestion. When Aakash element is affected there are hearing problems, heart related problems and suffocation. When there is lack of Earth element there is a feeling of lack of support in life. If water is placed wrongly there could be problem in career & education. If Wind element is disturbed person may suffer from irritability and skin problems.

Besides these elements there is a strong influence of Heavenly bodies, Magnetic Force, Geopathic Stress, Solar Energies & Environmental Effects on Human beings. These energies have to be harnessed properly according to personal need of a family or a person.

In many cases I have observed that all the elements were balanced but there were still problems. When I checked the energies, there was Geopathic Stress in the house, which when was checked brought a lot of relief.

Although Vaastu is an ancient science it is relevant today also. It offers a holistic approach to the design and basic layout of structures. Its application is universal and it has no constraints of climate, hemisphere or country. Vaastu rules are made for the betterment of mankind if these rules are followed carefully they bring peace, love, luck, prosperity support & happiness. In the modern world people have ignored the rules of Vaastu for various reasons.    As a result of this they are facing problems like Stress, Ill Luck, Financial Problems, Relationship problems Depression, Anxiety, Discontentment, Laziness and Psychological Disorders. To stay healthy and happy it has become more mandatory and relevant today to get the balance of all the five elements. It is important that Vaastudosh and Energy Dosh be rectified at the earliest.

  9. Vaastu advice should be solicited while:-

  10. Selecting a house, plot, flat or commercial building.
  11. Planning to build a house.
  12. Carrying out renovations.
  13. Making additional constructions.
  14. Changing interior of the house.
  15. Facing problems like conflicts, disputes, Ill luck.
  16. Having accidents in houses or commercial places.
  17. Ill health or psychological problems.
  18. Marital problems.
  19. Problems in education, career and business.

  20. In today’s world when the prices of land are soaring day by day, it is not possible for a common man to have a plot or build house according to Vaastu rules. Many people are living in rental houses. Space saving easy to maintain flats have become a fashion of the day. These people normally feel that Vaastu is not their cup of tea. I would like to share this good news with them that Vaastu corrections can be made without making structural changes. It is a myth that structures have to be demolished to rectify Vaastudosh. Our Puranas say Vaastu Purush gets annoyed when there are unnecessary demolitions or constructions. No construction, demolition or renovation should be made without consulting an expert in this field.

The Courses are comprehensive, intensive and include Demonstrations and Practical Sessions.
